Hotel Review: The Redbury in Los Angeles
10.06.11
The latest reckoning to the SBE portfolio of hotels, restaurants and bars, the Redbury, which opened in August, was hotly anticipated. The hospitality impresario Sam Nazarian tapped the photographer Matthew Rolston to “curate” the rooms, which were originally designed as condo apartments; the result is a vintage-meets-bohemian vibe. And the price point — rooms for July stays start at $225 — is significantly lower than at its SBE sibling in Beverly Hills, the SLS hotel.
THE LOCATION
Off the intersection of Hollywood and Vine, close enough to the effect without having to suffer the din. Attractions like Grauman’s Chinese Theater and the Hollywood Walk of Fame are within walking distance. Dozens of gastropubs and lounges, along with novelty shops and tattoo parlors (this is Hollywood, after all), line Vine Street and neighboring North Cahuenga Boulevard. The Pantages Theater, where touring Broadway shows and top-notch musical acts perform, is around the corner.
