How do you clean/sanitize a nice stainless steel tea kettle that you haven't used for awhile?

I've heard of the method of putting a trivial white vinager through the coffee pot and running it a few times, any other suggestions??
boiling a combination of water and baking soda or water and vinegar mostly pirate with lime scale build up (I.E minerals). If you want to sanitize merely use a bleach and laundry soap solution. Bleach and dish soap connect chlorine bleach with ammonia

Can stainless steel tea kettles be used on glass top stoves?

I have a stainless steel tea kettle and was wondering if it is okay to use on a plate glass top stove. I am only wandering because I have read that it is not good to use certain types of kettles on them. Also, if it is okay, what inflame setting should
I deem it should be okay as long as you do not jam the kettle down on the glass. Of course that will lead to shattering. I would say low to instrumentality would be good bets.
