How do I clean a stainless steel kettle?

I have prorate increase around te rim if my kettle. How can I clean it off without spoiling the finish?

Stainless steel descaler - convenient at all good supermarkets. And don't make the mistake I did - poured it away into the spin, forgetting there was a knife in there which it ruined!!

Bathe it in white vinegar. I use white vinegar for the inside and the shell. Gets the scale out without leaving a funky taste or by any chance poisoning myself. I usually let it soak overnight.
