How to remove "rust" spots on the outside of my stainless dishwasher & fridge?

I have stainless appliances and the front of the dishwasher and now the bottom of the refrigerator are forming rust spots (or so it appears), how can I safely murder without using an abrasive that would scratch. I have heard olive oil?

Barkeepers Alter ego is the best way to remove things like that. While it is a VERY light abraisive, it will not scratch. Facilitate a make up for a paste with Barkeepers Friend and a bit of water and gently rub, it will be given b win off wonderfully.

Our Larder Aid dishwasher with stainless tub has got detergent stains on the door where the detergent dispenses. We have tried vinegar and soap but none drudgery. Any ideas?
