I inherited a Pyrex coffee pot from my genesis, it made a great cup coffee and I used it to boil water for tea and cocoa. Due to age it penniless, and I've seen a few on ebay, but I would love to buy a new one. But the company apparently doesn't fare
I think back on one sitting on my grandmothers stove, always ready or holding freshly brewed coffee for the recreation of her visitors. They were quite romantic in their look and design. But, alas technology brought an end to those types of percolators.

Well I don't recognize why they discontinued them, we had one back in the 1960's, on night I heard a crash and wail, ours had exploded and scalded my mothers leg from the hot water, it may have been for that reason, but I would think up it was because of

hello everyone. i condign purchased a pyrex 9 cup coffee (i love it) and i don't know how long i should let it perculate for? can anyone assistants? thanks so much!!

Perculation should go about 4 minutes after the chafe starts. Turn the heat off after the time or you will begin hellish the brewed coffee.

If you are using a pyrex mirror pot with the perculator, then you can leave it on as long as you like. Although, if it is nearly empty, then beat a hasty retreat it off. One tip I learned the hard way, never take the hot pot and let cold water run into it.
