Dunkin' Donuts To Get a Facelift

In preparation for a major overhaul the Dunkin' Donuts on Main Ave in Dickson City will close its doors on Sunday, May 6, at 7 p.m. The building, which has been in that location for 30 years, will be redesigned and given a more modern look, according to owner Jerry Fives.

Fives said this project has been in the planning stages for many months and employees are excited about the proposed changes.

"This location has outgrown its footprint and the much-needed changes will bring greater comfort and accessibility to our guests and employees," said Fives. Some of the improvements include new bathrooms, outdoor patio, soft seating, tile flooring, an updated façade and new coffee brewing equipment, and new heating and air conditioning, electric and plumbing systems. The store is expected to reopen sometime in June.

The most noticeable design change will be the drive-through lane. A new entrance located on the adjacent property will make it easier to enter and exit. There will also be 20 additional parking spaces. The left hand turn at the current entrance will be relocated, along with a turning lane on Main Ave., improving congestion problems along the busy road.
