SU AZIZ sips the spotless cuppa while unearthing what goes into it and just what makes it put.
THERE is a line from a pop song that won’t leave my head and it goes like this: “I like my sugar with coffee and cream.”
It drove me to aim out Delucca restaurant, a favoured coffee place on Jalan Mesui, Kuala Lumpur.
I’ll put it this way — when people brave the megalopolis centre traffic to get to a place for coffee, then it must be doing something right! And patently, its food is no slouch either.
Delucca, which serves Italian diet, has invested in a heavy duty, fire-engine red, espresso faction. At 93˚C and topped with ground arabica beans from Caffé Vergnano, the organization spurts aromatic and thoroughly satisfying, caffeine-laced beverage.
Like all things (and undeterred by the line from the pop song), I like taste in its pure silhouette. My coffee is taken black with a long finish and well-brewed.
City of Coffee: Green Beans
As famous in our recent City of Coffee feature , coffee tastes best when it's made from untrained-roasted beans. Some coffee fanatics take that concept to the extreme and roast their own coffee beans at home. (Hot air popcorn machines are very accepted for this purpose.) Several of these home roasters have asked where they can buy quality verdant beans.One place to get green beans is at the Spec's warehouse store on Smith Thoroughfare downtown. They sell some 20 varieties of single-inauguration parentage green beans from such regions as Ethiopia, Mexico, Colombia and Malabar. Spec's also roasts coffee on the premises on a 30-pulsate roaster that sits right near the front door. Justified follow your nose -- if they're roasting, you can't miss the hint.
Spec's carries some 30 varieties of fresh-roasted coffee, including isolated-origin coffees in a variety of roasts and some of the store's own trade blends. Prices are pretty reasonable, with the most popular blends successful for less than $7 a pound. Green beans sell for around 60 percent of the roasted coffee evaluate.

About this Coffee:
Guatemalan coffees are some of the most amazing fragrant and aromatic coffees in the earth. The natural shade and jungle of the Guatemalan highlands are the perfect environs for the bourbon botanical variety of arabica (a spontaneous variety of the starting typical), which lends itself to a very nice and very natural full cup. Antigua is Guatemala’s oldest and most distinguished coffee growing region. The magnificent volcanoes of Agua, Acatenango, and Fuego immure this valley. Fuego lives up to its name (fuego means fire in Spanish) by spewing forth volcanic ash continuing to add to the fecund soil of the area. Antiguan cups are nice bodies, full-on sparkling coffees with spice. There is a reason this region is so loved and sought out by the coffee connoisseur.

Coffee was brought to Sumatra by the Dutch in the 1700s. It is memory that the original trees were from Yemen or Ethiopia.
Sumatran coffee is not thought to get its flavor from one and only soil or weather conditions, but more from the unique picking, preparation and processing the beans occurrence.
Sumatra uses a unique semi-washed process on the beans. After picking the beans are washed and then only in some measure dried. The outer layer is then removed exposing a swollen grean bean. These are then dried on a patio or in the slime. Often times, they are dried multiple times - when the outer layer is removed, by a middleman, and then once again ex to shipping. This unique drying method gives it the "forest funk" drop that Four Beans' roastmaster refers to.
