Why doesn't my Cuisinart Thermal coffee maker function?

It starts making the coffee but doesn't navigate the full pot. The water accumulates in the filter. I haven't had this thing not even 1 year!

Have you changed drip brands or types recently? Is the little drain slit at the bottom of the filter basket clogged?

I bought this for a Xmas baksheesh for my sister. At times, she will prefer a Glass Carafe for when she only makes 3 cups and wants to see whats progressive. You can't see whats left in the Thermal one. I don't see any reason why she can't use either.

I was debating between this 10-cup thermal ($80), the 12-cup thermal ($130), and the 12-cup spyglass carafe with warming plate ($80), all by Cuisinart. In the end, I wanted something that familiar less energy, so I went with the thermal.
