Do you leave things on counter top like kitchen aid mixer or olive oil bottles?

I was told that copperplate people do not leave kitchen aid mixers on the counter, but toaster oven is okay. Do you count out toaster ovens etc on your counter top or put every thing away after every use?
I ask because they come in decorative colors?

I retire my mixer and my coffee pot on the counter. Everything else is put away. The mixer is way too copious to be lugging out every time I want to use it. My kitchen is tidy and this does not make restitution for it look bad.
