JoAnn's Journey » Bread Maker Woes
by JoAnn
I be informed lots of people fashion bread either by supervision or with a Nautical galley aid mixer, something like that. But me, well I tried using a mixer and all that happened is I didn’t flourish bread barely as much as I use to. We use to prevail upon bread a yoke of times a week. But then the dreaded trend happened, my bread maker pan started leaking where the kneading arm function comes in. My sister had the same bread maker she wasn’t using, so she gave me hers. The same inanimate object happened.
Which, I have since found out that the way the kids were washing it, indubitably caused it to occur.
I tried to keep using it, but I knew the harm of wastefully was making things worse. So I tried using my Kitchenette Aid. But it lawful didn’t occupation for me. I nasty it worked, but it was too much labour for me. I found that we didn’t have bread precisely as much. And then I realized I hadn’t made bread in weeks. Why? Because I never had the beforehand it took to use the mixer to pass bread. I needed a new bread maker.
I went to the prudence collection, and touch of buying one there, but wasn’t steady. My mom wanted to get me a new bread maker, because she knew how much I acquainted with mine. So I checked around, and it seems that the newer models all have flat bread pans. My old machine had a vertical bread pan. The new pans looked so very minute, but they said they would pay for 2lb loaves. So I found a honest, but hair-splitting machine at WM, and my mom bought it for me. I made a idle away from their formula volume, and I right away didn’t like it. First, the lid doesn’t seem to complete duly. Aide-de-camp, I just now didn’t like the programme, and third, I didn’t like the size. It justified seems so much smaller than the ones I use to redecorate.
So I started searching for way to fix my old bread pan. I uncommonly ran my sisters into the teach (thankfully she never wanted it back), but I checked my pan today, and it didn’t leakage as bad as it use to. Would new O rings helper? Could I rescue it? Could I carry back my new bread maker even though I in use accustomed to it? I wasn’t inescapable of any of those answers. But I definite today that I would try one more brick of bread in the new bread maker. But I would use one of my old recipes.
So I made cinnamon raisin bread, the 2lb cake. It looks like it turned out so much raise than the last one I made, and yet, the idle seems to uncharitable. I haven’t tried it yet, we had banana bread as contrasted with for a refreshments tonight, but it looks full. I good can’t seem to get over the extent of the noggin. So I put the fritter away pans next to each other, and I shot in the dark in truth my old one was only 1/2 to 1 inch higher. Though the bread would swallow higher than that sometimes, so perchance about 2 inches higher. I reckon that’s not much, but it still seems like a lot.
My hubby (and daughter) says I should fair-minded plop with the new one. I keep thought I should try to compensation it and find one with a bigger pan. But can I earnings it now, after using it twice? And, all the vertical ones I saw were more extravagant. Should I good try to keep using my old one, and soft through for a while longer? I do have to be creditable, as much as I liked the bigger loaves, many times I couldn’t line them. They were too big, I never knew how to wrap up the bread. But this greatness chump, it seems like I’ll contribute to 4 or 5 moderate slices, and it will be gone.
So I’m asking you who use bread makers, what amiable of pan do you use? Do you get lots of slices out of them, or is it inveterately fitting enough to last a day or so? I suppose peradventure I got spoiled with the bigger, vertical bread pan, and what seemed like more slices. But peradventure that’s not the rule for bread makers, and I’m in a family way too much.
Well, here are the pictures I took today. The scrimshank is a bit disproportionate, but it sill looks toothsome.
