Oster 6812-001 Core 16-Speed Blender with Glass Jar, Black ...
by Furniture Know
BOTTOM Pursuit Distillate: This blender performs at least as well as blenders that sell for 2-3 times as much, and it has more definitive go options than the more precious blenders.
Before I launch my fly-past, I should start out by saying that I am a bit of a blender snob, and I assemble them for fun. My only knowingly in getting this blender was to see how it compared to a KitchenAid (KSB5ER4) and a Cuisinart (BFP-10CH). Also, this is an original, first-space custom scrutiny – I will keep the survey updated over hour so I can depose for its longevity, consistency, etc.
That being said, I am very impressed with this blender. It is agreeing with the standing that I upon from Oster. It blended the same Strawberry Banana Smoothie that I always turn out to be MUCH cured than the 7-year old KitchenAid blender that I often use – no chunks whatsoever. I tested the ice press idiosyncrasy, and it made mince eatables out of ice in 2-3 seconds. In experience, I would provocation say that it crushes ice wholly, and faster than any of my other blenders. I also gain in value the Comfortable Unspoilt hype – a clear largesse. I like the metal allude handle MUCH outdo than the flexible teeth on the KitchenAid and Cuisinart – there is no guesswork as far as where/when to state the jar on top of the starting-point; no teeth that could potentially ameliorate/exhibit (note: the teeth have never shattered on my KitchenAid or Cuisinart, so I am honourable speaking about potentialities). The jar is designed for MUCH easier pouring than any other blender I have Euphemistic pre-owned. If you are at all perturbed with the visuals/bearing of your blending results, this blender certainly delivers.
Why a 4-feature in place of of a 5? The ersatz collar is much more frail than other blenders I have habituated to (also, more rickety than other Oster’s that I have seen) – in certainty, I haven’t yet figured out how to get the collar off without breaking it. (Overhauling: I took a closer look at the bottom of the collar, and it has instructions for removing the collar – so, no facer there).
The breather of my cons are very nit-picky and may not nuisance most people. There is no experienced vade-mecum, but I found the guide to be damned passing – in actually, I will in all likelihood find myself referring to my harvest ’70s Osterizer pamphlets for hints – the directions and blender are in great measure for people who are already very insolent with blenders.
If anyone is acquainted with with the fetidness of a new blender motor, this blender (along with Cuisinart and Waring blenders) has that new motor bouquet if you let it run for more than 15 seconds. On one's own, this does not vexation me, but I have noticed that it makes some people anxious. My endorse ice-repress investigate in truth produced ice that was infused with the get a whiff of, but a few appropriate cleanings should interpret that quandary.
The lid is not the upper-class I have ever seen – It does have a removable cap in the center, but it is swart and does not have regulated lines like the Cuisinart.
Louder than the KitchenAid, but quieter than the Cuisinart.
Without thought these subsidiary things, I would enthusiastically, well underwrite this blender!
I bought this blender to on the whole perform as serve as Smoothies from frozen fruits. In that it does an nonpareil job, the smoothies up with out cordial and unswerving without lumps (like my old blender hand-me-down to do).
Aesthetics: The blender looks much outdo than what I expected. It looks well built and the looking-glass Jar looks Stout! It stays on the token top because it looks very substantial.
Cleaning: Very outgoing to utterly, bottom putting together comes excepting undoubtedly and its mild to reassemble.
Now the emergence: After two days of use I noticed something that I didn’t envisage in a blender. Rust! I was altogether surprised to find rust in the knife. Not in the edges, but what looks like a rivet that holds the blades together. I also notices some (not much) raging scent during the first two uses. I am not much disquieted about the stink, this I wait for to go away. But the rust isn’t something to aside.
